Many sports people practice it to prevent injury and extend their competitive careers.The great thing about yoga is that it doesn't require any special equipment, gear or clothing. All you need is a yoga mat and a floor to practice on. Taking up a yoga practice will likely have a knock-on effect to other areas of your life too. Don't be surprised if you become more aware of what you eat and drink, your habitual patterns of thinking, how you relate to people etc. Yoga can help you feel that you are in charge of your own health.
